Piano Lessons
For Adults And Seniors

Many adult and senior students are taking piano lessons because they now have the time and want to pursue their interest and love of music.  One is never too old to learn!

Adult Learning Benefits

Learning in the later years brings great enjoyment and also helps to keep the brain functioning at an optimal level and improve eye-hand coordination.  There are numerous benefits.

Jane customizes and works with each mature student to understand the students goals.  Lessons are enjoyable and are at a relaxed pace for each student – no pressure!  Special adult method books are recommended and these books provide gradual and satisfying weekly progress with no stress.  Learning is easy and fun!

“All progress is good!”, says Jane.  Some weeks, there will be more progress, other weeks, less.  This is ok and expected with adult learners.  Life will sometimes get in the way, and we will continue to move forward slowly with each lesson. This is normal.

Often adult students feel a great sense of self-imposed pressure to practice hours a day and prepare for lessons, and often this deters them from taking piano lessons which is a shame.

This self-imposed doctrine of practice is completely unnecessary. Jane understands that life is unpredictable and you just do what you can! Jane works with every mature student at their pace with their life/lifestyle. This is the norm for all adult/mature students!

Often adult/mature students have health issues and limitations. This is no problem. Jane works with each student and adjusts all learning to how the student is feeling the day of lessons. Creative teaching and understanding of the student’s needs is a specialty of Jane’s.
